Today they are very popular and can be carried in very many portable devices and can be listened any time with simple gadgets.


There are certain sections which are very much benefited by the Audio Books. Those who are visually challenged till the development of audio books were virtually dependent on people who red to them books. There were also the books employing brail system which the blind could read. Today the large scale production of audio books in the market has benefited the blind in a big way. Apart from the blind audio books are used by the old who are visually impaired, invalids in hospital and those who are on the move. A person who is engaged in an activity has his ears free and audio books are a great boon to such people. For example a person who is driving a car can follow an audio book effortlessly while driving a car and can relieve the monotony of driving while he is feeding his mind.


The audio books have very good positive effect on the language skills of the persons listening to them. In a way audio books are a wonderful way of capturing the primordial way of learning. Right from our infancy we learn lot of things merely by listening to the people near to us. All of us would agree that our fist teacher is none other than our own mother. So with increasing dependence on audio books technology is taking us back to the days when we learned many things directly from the near and dear ones around us.
